Sturdier than it looks!
When I first opened this up I was a little bit surprised by how thin the actual gate felt in our stairs gap, however upon assembling with the extensions it fit perfectly and the extensions made it easy to adjust into whichever space we wanted it in.
The gate itself was a bit tricky to get to fit properly with the extensions but felt sturdy and stayed easily in place once it was (which I was unsure about due to it being pressure mounted). Even with a climbing toddler, it didn’t budge and kept her safe. I’m impressed with the opening mechanism, one that isn’t too advanced but my daughter isn’t able to figure out and overcome, I also like the way it opens both ways which makes it easy to push if I’ve got hands full.

Great but pay attention when opening
Very good sturdy stair gate and the extension it comes with are very handy and would make this fit most places you need it too, on first use I was a massive fan of the locking mechanism and the way you pull up and it will return to being closed, but after a few weeks use the bracket on the top hinge lifts entirely when you lift the gate up or even when you just open it and the whole thing unattached itself from the frame. Easily fixed by pushing it back on but not great to have a gate fly down the stairs while holding your toddler.

Must have baby gate!
Really happy with this stair gate to help with the safety in my home. My daughter is almost one and starting to get round the house quickly so this is perfect for ensuring she can’t climb the stairs. What I love is that it’s simple to open when I am holding her so I can come down the stairs and get through. It fit well on our stairs with the adjustable feature and the overall aesthetics are nice too. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a baby gate.

Great baby gate
This is such a good baby gate. Installing it did take me a while as I couldn’t figure it out but I got there in the end. The extensions are perfect for our stairs as others were too small. I used the small extra extension and it’s really durable and safe. I really don’t need to worry about my child’s safety anymore thanks to this baby gate! The clasp is nice and sturdy so kids can’t open it and adults know to lift it.

sturdy and well made
sturdy and well made safety gate with easy installation. instructions are easy to follow. didn’t need any additional screws or tools to set up which always makes it easier. design is good and very strong. i have no worries about my children being able to get through or the gate detaching from the wall.

Great that it includes extenders
Love this baby gate it’s really sturdy and has extenders included which really helps when I move the location of the gate from one door to another! We’ve had it at the bottom of the stairs, on the bedroom doorway and even tried it at our caravan! Definitely recommend!

Great baby gate!
Once thoroughly reading the instructions and a little video online, I found the gate very easy to setup by myself - even at 8 months pregnant! 😅 Would definitely purchase again when the need arises, simple to set up and my son can't open it himself!

Love it
I absolutely love the Ava Gate! It's been a game-changer in our home. One of the biggest wins for me is how easy it is for my older kids (ages 4 and 6) to use. With our previous gate, my 4-year-old really struggled to open it, but this one is so much simpler for her to manage.
We mainly use this gate to keep our little one safely contained, and it works perfectly. What I really appreciate is the automatic closing system – such a brilliant feature! If the gate is left open even slightly, it swings shut on its own, which is super helpful when I’ve got my hands full. At the same time, if I need it to stay open (like when we're going back and forth a lot), I can push it open fully and it stays put.
Installation was also incredibly easy – no drilling or tools needed, which makes it perfect for renters like us. The pressure-fit design feels really secure, and the gate looks sleek in our space. I also love the wide walk-through section and the double-locking system for added safety.
