Great gate not only for toddlers, but pets as well
We have an 18 month toddler who is growing each day. Thank heavens for this tall gate. It keeps him separated from the bedrooms of our home, and the part of the house where the cats stay. It has worked like a charm and I would definitely purchase it again. We've purchased other gates in the past that have been flimsy, hard to install, but didn't have any issues with this one. We'll be purchasing another soon. Even when the baby is romping around the living room where he stays, he can bump into it, and it doesn't budge. He's already near 25 pounds, so I know this gate would work great for kids as well as pets!

Love this gate
I bought this gate a little while ago and it has helped so much. It helps keep my daughter in and also helps keeping pets out of the part of my house with all the carpet. The gate was very easy to install. It comes with attachments if your opening is larger than a regular size doorway. There was one problem I had. The door part of the gate is held on with a little screw and it kept falling out and so the door could easily come off. I was able to fix the hole so it didn’t fall off anymore and the gate works great now.

A Mama’s Best Friend
Metal frame is much nicer feeling than wood and plastic types of gates. The one handed operation of the gate is ideal for any parent with their arms full with baby or baby things. Love that I do not have to constantly take up and put the gate back up for high traffic pathways in my house. Door will stay open if pushed open all the way which is nice when baby is not around. Gate operation is also very quiet - a great quality when trying to be quiet during baby’s naps. Very happy with price and quality of product.

Sturdy security gate
The Ava Security Gate is made very well. It is not flimsy. It is sturdy and well made. Installation was easy and I didn’t need any screws or anything additional as it is a pressure mount gate. It fits in my small kitchen doorway and if needed to place it in a wide doorway, the company sells extensions! The door clicks closed and is easy to open for an adult but for a small child it locks and is safe! The door swings both ways. I like it a lot and this will keep my pet and child safe from entering the kitchen!!

Easy install
This gate was really easy to install in our kitchen/family room doorway. I like that you don't have to take the whole gate down to go through the doorway. It has a center area that opens independently of the rest of the gate allowing you to leave the frame in place all of the time. It stays firmly in place even when pushed on by a toddler trying to get through leaving you the peace of mind they are safe where you want them. The gate is very nice looking too and doesn't stand out against your home decor.

Good Gate
The gate itself is great for pet and kids or whatever you might want to put it up for. It does take a little getting used to and at first it was a little tough opening but once we used it a little more is became easier to open. The 4 stars came from the installation process which was a headache. The directions were hard to follow with the pictures. Once I finally finished it look and worked great while doing its job.

great gate
i picked this up to keep my dogs out of my office and after looking at many gates, this one was made from a strong metal and is very sturdy, has little caps that screw to your doorway then the gate locks into them so that it can not be pushed threw like the other one i had, very solid gate and is doing a great job at keeping my husky out of my office, i would recommend it to anyone looking for a strong,sturdy gate.

Sturdy!
I have this mounted in a hallway to keep my dogs out of a certain part of our house and it works really well. They're 90lb dogs and jump on the top and rest their paws and it doesn't even budge. It has little adapters to put on the ends to keep from tearing up your walls which I really like. I also like the color preference over the typical wood gates.

I am looking for a new baby gate, but it needs to be easy for an adult with arthritis in their thumbs to open. Will this work or is there another one that may work better? She wants a white gate.
Hi Heather, To open this gate you need to slide and hold a latch while pulling the gate door upwards out of the locking mechanism on the bottom of the door. This can be managed with one hand. Using two hands you could avoid the use of your thumb on the latch and use fingers to slide the latch while lifting the gate door with your other hand. Hope this helps!
